Thousands to protest Israeli Govt planned Army draft for Yeshiva Bochurim this Sunday in Manhattan at Federal Plaza

Update: Due to a parade in the vicinity of The Israeli Consulate the NYPD has relocated the Protest to Federal Plaza/Foley square in Lower Manhattan Sunday June 9th at 4:00 pm.
 update: The Satmar rally has been moved to Sunday June 9th, 2013 Rosh Chodesh Tamuz, to accommodate the Lakewood yeshiva who has a scheduled event for Wednesday June 5th. Rav Shmuel Auerbach is said to have asked the Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva to join in the atzeres.  Time will tell if the litvishe Roshei yeshiva will join.

At a meeting at the home of the Satmar Rebbe in williamsburg, it was decided  due to the ongoing battle against the Bnei hayeshivos with pending jail time for those who refuse to enlist, we can no longer sit back. We must come together jointly and protest against the Israeli Govt plan to draft Yeshiva leit . According to reports both Satmar factions will unite together in battling the gezeirah.  A Hafganah is planned for this Wednesday in New York city, It will take place at Federal Plaza. Large Crowds from Chasidishe and Litvishe yeshivos are expected to attend and join in the demonstration. It will begin at 3:00 pm on June 9th, 2013.

  1. This was a political outburst by Ahroni to prove he is B'Roish after seeing an equal gathering at Union Lot as Taylor St. The Zaloni faction has not yet publicly consented to join. It is unlikely Lakewood will join since the annual fundraiser is scheduled for that night!

    1. Lakewood will not attend this protest by "bnei yeshivos" (they mean Satmer yeshivos), whatever day it is.

      The only protest Talmidei Yeshivos will attend, is if the Gedolei Eretz Yisroel call for it. They have speciffically called not to make protests at the present time.

  4. TPV, I think it would enhance your blog if you would eliminate Anonymous comments. One can remain Pseudonymous by choosing any name of their choice. It gets really difficult when trying to follow a conversation by five people with the same name.
